Lund moved to Finland in 2004 to continue her singing, harp and piano studies. Musically multitalented Maria Lund has performed all over Finland for the past 20 years. She’s a familiar sight in theaters as well as in concert halls. The versatility of her repertoire and the skillful crossing of styles have become her trademark while performing.
Maria Lund has featured in the main roles of musicals in Tampere, Seinäjoki, Jyväskylä, Turku, Kouvola and Helsinki, among others. She’s been hired as a soloist by the Vaasa, Pori and Turku city orchestras, among others.
Maria Lund’s first album featured Heikki Sarmanto’s compositions for the poems of Eino Leino and others. The later album Ajan Sävel sold gold in 2009.
Lund was awarded the Kullervo Linna award in 2010.
